Sleepy Hollow is served by the Chickasha School District. Five schools serve just over 2300 students in this PK-12 system. Students living in Sleepy Hollow will attend Lincoln and Grand Elementary Schools, Chickasha Middle School, and Chickasha High School. The Chickasha School District has one of the highest concentrations of top ranked public schools in Oklahoma, boasting high rates in diversity, graduation, and math and reading proficiency as well as low student-to-teacher ratios, and the Chickasha High School has been voted one of “America's Best High Schools” by Newsweek Magazine. Students can enjoy a world-class education with expansive opportunities thanks to partnerships with the Canadian Valley Technology Center (just across the highway) and the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma, both located in Chickasha.
Sleepy Hollow is just one mile west of HWY 277, one of Chickasha’s main arteries and which provides direct access to the H.E. Bailey Turnpike and I-44. I-44 can take you directly into Oklahoma City (45 minutes) or get you to the H.E. Bailey Turnpike Spur/HWY 9 and Norman (40 minutes). You can also head in the opposite direction—southwest—toward Lawton and Medicine Park, a favorite local hideout in the Wichita Mountains. Other nearby major highways are US-81, HWY 39, and HWY 62. Blanchard and championship-quality Winter Creek Golf Course are just 15 minutes away up HWY 62 and Fort Cobb State Park--another local favorite—is about 40 minutes due west. Sleepy Hollow is also 30 minute from both Mustang and Will Rogers World Airport in SW OKC.
Chickasha offers all the major shopping, dining, and entertainment amenities of a larger city with a cozy, small-town feel. With both a historic downtown and commercial retail sections, there really is something for everyone, from young families and retirees to the thriving college population at the top-ranked University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma (USAO). There’s plenty to stay busy, too, with a scenic public golf course, vibrant youth sports leagues, and the Chickasha Area YMCA, which draws substantial community activity and support. Nearby Lake Chickasha offers fishing, boating, and camping, while there’s always something happening at the Grady County Fairgrounds. In addition to benefits like a lower cost of living, lower taxes, and some of the state’s best schools—all without the metro traffic—Chickasha residents can also enjoy events like the Chickasha Light Festivals, one of the best and biggest holiday events in central Oklahoma, and Droverstock, a popular regional music festival.
