Brand New Energy Efficient Homes in Oklahoma City by Home Creations

At Home Creations, “energy efficiency” is more than just lip service—it comes standard in all of the new homes we build. Features like radiant barrier decking, low-E thermal pane vinyl windows, R-44 attic insulation, Navian tankless water heaters, and efficient HVACs give every Home Creations home a Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Index of 42-46, exceeding the industry standard and making our homes nearly 53% more efficient typical new homes. For homeowners, this means more than $1,000 (on average) in savings on annual energy expenses and a smaller carbon footprint.

Discover what Oklahoma City has to offer

Recently ranked among the top 25 most livable cities in the U.S.,Oklahoma City offers all the opportunities and amenities of a larger city with the affordability and charm of a smaller one. From downtown districts to urban enclaves, there is a pocket of the city to fit any personality. Residential areas range from sprawling, sparse suburban to high-end and historic, and they all boast everything you need for your everyday nearby.

Oklahoma City School Districts

Because of its breadth, Oklahoma City is served by a number of school districts, in addition to Oklahoma City Public Schools, the state’s largest school district serving most of the city’s urban areas. School systems that serve the outer reaches of the city include:

Mustang Public Schools, a PK-12 system ranked among the top 3 performing districts in Oklahoma and recently named one of the state’s best employers and places to work.

Moore Public Schools, the state’s third-largest district serving more than 24,500 students and consistently ranked among the top for diversity as well as athletic and academic performance and opportunities.

Putnam City Public Schools, which serves approximately 20,000 students in the northwest reaches of Oklahoma City as well as Bethany and Warr Acres.

Getting around Oklahoma City

Generally speaking, Oklahoma City’s grid system of streets and highways makes it fairly easy to get around, no matter what part of the city you’re in. Traversed by major interstates like I-44, I-40, I-240, and I-35, you can get in and out of the city without much hassle and with normal traffic. Most streets and thoroughfares like May, Pennsylvania, and Reno Aves. run from the very south of the city all the way north, and same goes for many of the numbered streets running east and west, like 23rd, 36th, and 50th Streets on the north side and 44th, 59th, and 149th Streets on the south side.

If you happen to be downtown, you can even hop a ride on the city’s new streetcar!

Travel Time from Oklahoma City to Surrounding Areas

No matter where you are in Oklahoma City, you can be to any of the surrounding commuter belt cities in about 20 minutes or less, including Norman, Edmond, Yukon, Mustang, and Moore. Tinker Air Force Base and Will Rogers World Airport are equally as close and easily accessible via I-40 and I-44, respectively.

Things to do in Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City offers plenty of activities, events, and festivals all year around—many of them free—so there really is something for everyone. The Oklahoma State Fair is always a favorite during the fall and the newly completed Scissortail Park is always alive with holiday festivals, farmers markets, and performances.

You can always catch a baseball game (the Oklahoma City Dodgers), a basketball game (the OKC Thunder), a soccer match (the OKC Energy FC), or a football game from any of the surrounding colleges, and there are 14 (or more!) districts to explore, each with their own special flavor.

If you want to get out of the city but stay close to home, there’s always adventure on the outskirts, whether the family-friendly activities on the southwest side; Lake Stanley Draper on the southeast; Hurricane Harbor, the OKC Outlets, and Lake Overholser to the northwest; or all of the action north of I-40.
