Created by structural engineers in Oklahoma, the modified slab on grade foundation is designed specifically for our soil properties and conditions. This foundation system provides continuity between the slab and the foundation perimeter, with piers inserted every 4-to-6 feet, depending on the number of stories of the home. A pier is centered at every corner and within 4 feet of each corner, making our homes structurally sound.
2x4 stud lumber is used to construct every home we build. Most homebuilders, including us - Home Creations, builds every house with 2x4 lumber. This has been used for many years in the home building industry. 2x4 lumber allows us to increase insulation factors and install radiant barriers and wraps to the home.
We install DuPont Tyvek HomeWrap around the entire home. This product defends the home against moisture, air and water; reducing the risk of condensation damage, wood rot or mold growth.
Home Creations uses an HVAC system that includes a 96% efficient furnace and a 15.2 SEER AC unit (higher than code, which is 14 SEER). Mastic is used to seal all joints to make it even more energy efficient!
R-8 insulation increases the home’s energy efficiency, providing a moisture resistant with great insulating properties. R-8 is Energy Star qualified, meeting or exceeding federal building guidelines for energy efficiency.
R-15 insulation has high-quality materials made of resilient fibers to improve the energy efficiency and comfort levels of your home. This insulation is applied in the 2x4 walls during the construction stage.
R-44 attic insulation is used to help regulate temperature, which keeps your home comfortable and energy efficient! The “R” is the measure of thermal resistance; the higher the R-value, the greater the insulating effectiveness. In Oklahoma, the R-value should be at least a 30 per code. We exceed this standard, making your new home operate more efficiently.
*Oklahoma Market Only
Radiant barrier decking is a highly reflective material that reflects radiant heat, rather than absorbing radiant heat. This reduces radiant heat gain in the attic. This type of decking will help keep the temperature of your attic cooler on hot summer months and therefore creating less pressure on the HVAC system to work harder. Not to mention, your new home's attic will have less extreme temperature changes.
Not all PEX systems are equal. We install AquaPEX® tubes in your home. This unique tubing is flexible and will not corrode. The flexibility allows for fewer connections and fewer potential leak points. The cold expansion fitting eliminates the possibility of human error in connections and gives a larger diameter fitting for increased water flow.
Two freeze-proof water spigots are installed to the exterior of your home. These spigots will not freeze if you accidentally forget to unhook a hose during freezing temperatures. A normal faucet that freezes can cause flooding and damages to your home.
The shingles we install, Atlas Pristine Pinnacle, are class 3 impact resistance rated which means they are capable to withstand strong storms and hail that are common during Oklahoma storm season – keeping your roof safe.
The low-E coating reduces the amount of UV rays in conditioned space. The space between the double panes is filled with Argon gas as opposed to air, which reduces the amount of heat loss, heat gain or heat radiation coming into your home. This can also prevent sun damage to your curtains and furniture.
Some parts of the country call them hurricane straps, but the benefit is the same. Tornado straps anchor the top plate of your home to the rafters, keeping your roof more secure during high winds.
Anchor bolts anchor the bottom plate of your home to the stem wall. This is beneficial in the event of severe weather or tornadoes. The anchor bolts are sunk 8 inches into the concrete of the stem wall and the J-shape locks the bolts in place; keeping your home secure during strong Oklahoma winds.
OSB stands for Oriented Strand Board, which is a super strong sheathing that gets its strength from the alternating orientation of the layers of wood that compose it. We use OSB rather than flimsy foam board around the entire perimeter of your home.
The duct work is sealed with mastic, which is a gooey material that seals joint gaps that have been reinforced with sheet-metal screws.
Protect your home from water. The Schluter Shower System is a fully bonded, watertight assembly for tiled showers. This product eliminates the risk of failures due to water and vapor penetration.
Enjoy the luxury of not running out of hot water. Tankless water heaters eliminate the extra cost of keeping gallons of hot water in a storage tank, which wastes energy. We install Navian tankless water heaters that are 97%-99% efficient, which are the highest rated Energy Star gas tankless water heaters. Also, the dual stainless-steel heat exchangers resist corrosion better than copper, which is commonly used in other tankless water systems.
Home Creations already has high standards for energy efficient construction, a modest solar addition can allow a homeowner to nearly eliminate their monthly utility expenses. With the addition of solar panels, our HERS scores can reach the teens, for the first time ever!
There are several benefits to insulated garage doors. They make your garage energy efficient by keeping heat in during colder weather and out during the summer heat, which lessens the burden on HVAC systems. Other benefits include: durability and protection for belongings inside the garage.
Polycell caulk is a flexible sealant designed for internal and external use in areas of the home that are subject to movement. This is used to seal around beams, cornices, cracks between skirting boards and walls, around windows, doorframes and filing cracked plaster.
We're excited to help you find your new home!
