While Home Creations will not be re-enacting the Oklahoma Land Run of 1889, they have invited the public to claim lots for future homes in their newest community in Moore on Saturday, October 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Home Creations is hosting a “Stake Your Claim” event in Apple Village, a 65-lot community on the southwest corner of SW 34th Street and 24th Avenue NW / Eastern Avenue.
With homes starting from the $115’s, Home Creations is excited to launch this new community and offer energy efficient homes to new home buyers. In September, Home Creations entered into an agreement with the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) to provide new home buyers an important measurement of long-term energy performance of each new home called the HERS Index.
HERS Index is equivalent to the MPG for vehicles and future home buyers can expect their new Home Creations home to be 30% to 40% more energy efficient than a typical new home and ENERGY STAR qualified homes.

10/06/11 - Home Creations commits to a better way of measuring energy efficiency in new homes
Home Creations, Oklahoma’s largest home builder, entered into an agreement with the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) to provide new home buyers an important measurement of long-term energy performance of each new home the company builds. Its called the HERS Index.
“We aim to build homes that make sense for home buyers and their lifestyle, and for our environment,” said MJ Farzaneh, Home Creations’ Construction Director. With their experience being an ENERGY STAR qualified builder and a recent ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year award winner, Home Creations has identified the best way to build an energy efficient home while keeping in mind Oklahoma’s climate and environment.
“The HERS Index is equivalent to the MPG for vehicles,” explained Anita Wagoner, Director of Sales & Marketing. “Every one of our floor plans has a HERS Index between 50 to 70. The lower the number, the higher the energy efficiency. This translates to greater energy savings for home owners.” All of Home Creations’ floor plans are designed to be more energy efficient compared to a typical new home (at 100 HERS Index) and even compared an ENERGY STAR qualified home (at 85 HERS Index).

9/6/11 - HGTV’s New Series “Showhouse Showdown” Watch Party at Warren Theatre
Last February, Home Creations started making plans to build two identical model homes for HGTV’s “Showhouse Showdown”, a new series featuring two designers going head-to-head to create the best interior design with similar budget and time constraints.
On June 26, over 400 people congregated at Montague in Edmond as HGTV revealed the two show houses and votes were cast for the favorite design. “The most unique decorating features,” according to Anita Wagoner, Sales and Marketing Director for Home Creations, “were items such as; a tin ceiling, unusual paint techniques, contemporary light fixtures and cabinet treatments. We picked up some new ideas that we will be able to offer our customers if they choose to upgrade their homes.”
The two homes, off NW 164th between MacArthur and Rockwell, are currently available for the public to view and possibly purchase. The winner has already been determined but the results will be made known when Oklahoma City’s episode premieres September 26 at 9 p.m..
Home Creations is hosting a watch party at Warren Theatre on Sep 26 and invites the public to reserve their tickets for this free event. Several prizes will also be given out to attendees at the screening. Click here for details.
7/15/11 - Celebrating 30 Years of Building Homes in Oklahoma with a Jingle
The Home Creations jingle, arranged and produced by one of the nations best jingle writers Michael Brown of MBrown Productions started playing on radio air waves in 2004. It was an opportune time for the company to create an audio element of its brand to compliment their existing marketing efforts.
“Writing a jingle is easy for me, especially when I know the product the way I know Home Creations,” said Anita Wagoner, who wrote the words to the jingle. “You want to emphasize things that are important to people, make it memorable, and in our case, help them remember our phone number.”
As the brothers celebrate 30 years of building homes, the public is invited to sing the Home Creations jingle for a chance to win cash prizes. To win in one of three categories, the public has to creatively present the jingle with the following words, “Home Creations, we’ll help you find your dream home. At 3-6-4-9-9-9-9, it’s Home Creations.”
Before the “Sing Our Jingle” challenge was launched July 15, various Home Creations employees were captured on video singing the familiar tune to show people “how it’s done”.

5/26/11 - Home Creations is recognized with a 2011 ENERGY STAR® Leadership In Housing award
(MOORE, OK) Home Creations is pleased to announce that it has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with a 2011 ENERGY STAR Leadership in Housing Award. This award recognizes the important contribution Home Creations has made to energy-efficient construction and environmental protection by [building/verifying] more than 420 ENERGY STAR qualified homes last year. Collectively, these homes will save our customers approximately $200,340.00 on utility bills each year.
The environmental benefits of these ENERGY STAR qualified homes are equal to the equivalent of:
• Eliminating the emissions from 205 vehicles;
• Saving 1,244,880 lbs of coal;
• Planting 340.2 acres of trees; or
• Saving the environment 2,441,040 pounds of CO2 per year.
To earn the ENERGY STAR, a home must meet strict guidelines for energy efficiency set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. These homes are at least 20% more efficient than standard new homes built today.
ENERGY STAR qualified homes offer homebuyers all the features they want in a new home, plus energy-saving features like effective insulation systems, high performance windows, tight construction and ducts, properly-sized and installed efficient heating and cooling equipment, efficient products, and third-party verification of energy performance.
“The value you get from an ENERGY STAR Qualified Home goes far beyond energy efficiency,” said Sam Rashkin, National Director for EPA’s ENERGY STAR Homes Program. “ENERGY STAR Qualified homes provide more comfort, durability, and a healthier environment than homes built to code. On top of that, they’re tested and inspected to perform.”
Last year alone, with the help of ENERGY STAR and partners, Americans saved about $18 billion on their utility bills and avoided greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those of 33 million vehicles. Nearly 1.2 million ENERGY STAR homes have been built in the United States since the program first began labeling homes in 1995.

5/2/10 - Builder Social Media Rockstars
I couldn’t resist posting about some builder social media hero’s I’ve seen recently. This of course on the heels of a recent post I did about “doing social media wrong”. Call me a weirdo but I genuinely get excited when I see a home builder using social media in a way that actually generates interest in their homes in a creative and interactive way and not just the usual “We build great homes” approach. Creativity is what the public is looking for and if it gets my attention (and I’m not even looking to buy a home) then you can bet it gets the attention of those that are truly looking. So if they haven’t already heard it, allow me to say “Well done” and keep on leading the way. Take a look at these two Builder Social Media rockstars.
First stop is Home Creations. Their most recent video was entitled “Joe & Makensie Tour Turtlewood“. Now I don’t know if this was planned or they just went with the flow but I was very inspired by its creativity. I think you will be too. Check it out and remember, this is just one woman with a video camera and her creativity.
Next up is Penn Homes and Lisa Pool. The best thing about Lisa is that she’s real and she’s raw. My favorite kind of person anyway but what’s cool is that she’s not constantly pushing her homes but building relationships instead. She interacts on a personal level and pulls people into her daily life. Oh, and she’s always talking about the homes she selling. I wonder if those two facts have something in common?

We thank you for the important contribution that your organization has made to energy-efficient construction and environmental protection.”

With the 466 ENERGY STAR homes constructed last year in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Lawton, Home Creations helped
- Eliminate the emissions from 228.34 vehicles
- Save 1,381,224 lbs of coal
